Good girl gone bad Miley has revealed why she decided to go fully nude in her music video for ‘Wrecking Ball,’ and the reason may surprise you!

With controversial fashion photographer Terry Richardson directing Miley Cyrus‘ music video for “Wrecking Ball,” it’s not surprising the duo pushed the envelope. Fresh off her raunchy VMA performance, Miley launched the shocking new video, dividing fans and critics once again. But this time Miley wanted to do more than just stir the pot — she wanted to share her “vulnerable side” with the world, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

Miley Cyrus Naked In ‘Wrecking Ball’ Video — Why Is She Nude?

This isn’t Miley’s first time working with Terry, who is known for his explicit, over-the-top photos and videos. The “We Can’t Stop” singer twerked for Terry in a sexy photo shoot in August, but they decided to take things to the next level for Miley’s new video.
“Miley has shot with Terry a lot over the years so she’s very comfortable with him and she trusts him,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“She chose him to direct her video because he’s all about pushing boundaries and making a statement. That’s what Miley’s into right now,” the source adds. “Miley loved  the idea of going naked because it suits the song — she’s showing her naked emotions. It’s her vulnerable side and it’s not something she shows very often, so having nudity made sense.”
Nudity can be expressed as art in its purest form, so perhaps that’s what Miley was going for. All we know is, it’s not easy to expose yourself — literally or figuratively — so we applaud her courage!

It’s becoming pretty clear that we can’t stop Miley, so we might as well go along for the ride!
Miley is determined to beat her own record for the highest views on VEVO with her latest single “Wrecking Ball.” Miley’s “We Can’t Stop’ was the first video off of her highly anticipated album, Bangerz, and it reached a record-smashing 100 million views — surpassing all video views in VEVO history. Bangerz is set for release on Oct. 4th.
There’s no telling what Miley will do next, so expect the unexpected!
